Hello! My name is Evangela Grace Caliguire. I am 18 years old and the oldest of my 6 siblings. I spent the first 13 years of my life in central Florida. Growing up surrounded by pine trees, palmettos, and cypress swamps was about the best atmosphere for a life full of adventure. I enjoyed pretending to be indians with my siblings…”cooking” crawdads we caught from our pond over a makeshift fire and building forts out of palm fronds. I attribute my love for adventure to the years in Florida. In late 2010 my family moved to north Alabama. What a difference from humid, flat, Florida! Now we live in a land of rolling mountains and even an occasional snow in the winter time. Adventure has taken on a different meaning. Now, we don BDUs and teach fellow Civil Air Patrol cadets how to locate missing aircraft, or train to find the missing aircraft from the air. Besides school and activities in CAP, I enjoy playing piano and a little bit of guitar. My spiritual life is quite amazing as well. Ever since I was a little girl, my parents stressed the fact of having a relationship with God…not religion. We joke that our mom’s remedy for any kind of minor illness (complaint) is to drink water. Head ache? Drink water. Sore throat? Drink water. Hungry? Drink water. While drinking water is mom’s remedy for illness, mom’s remedy for other issues is to pray. Upset with sibling? Pray. Don’t know what choice to make? Pray. Want to know what’s for dinner? Water…then pray. 😀 Just kidding! Through my fantastic mother’s guidance, she has showed us that God is the most important thing in life and He should be a part of every aspect of our day. My Dad is likewise just as fantastic. Though he is busy a lot with work, in the evenings and on weekends he enjoys playing and working on projects with my siblings and I. He also conducts Bible Studies with us in the evenings and is a wonderful spiritual leader for our family. I doubt I would have the relationship I have with God today if it were not for my amazing parents.
I thought I would also include some random facts about me here on this page. 😀
